Clos des Chenes
Manufacturer:
Michael Schuster
Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Closed nose; dumb and closed to smell; rather mean mid-weight with a vivid red fruit acidity and firm, light, oak-dry tannin., Acid and wood-dry tannin dominate a barely ripe fruit, and make this a rather charmless prospect! Overwhelming impression is of fruit that is not fully ripe. Another ‘edgy’ prospect!

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Fine deep colour, young rim. Black cherry and blackberry fruits on the nose, very good precision and depth of fruit on the palate. Sweet middle flavours and tannins to assure a good future.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Pronounced, lifted, strawberry nose, good density on the palate, with balanced acidity and medium, fine tannin. A little sour towards the finish as the fruit gives out.
