Champans

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Slightly herbal character to the nose and this is reflected on the palate too. Medium-full, slightly lean overall, fresh, barely ripe red fruit flavour of modest complexity and medium length. Slightly unripe and barely 1er Cru in quality; certainly needs time to mellow.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Good medium colour. Nose of red summer fruits and good natural concentration, quite sweet and supple. Good balance and length, a wine with Volnay elegance that will show well mid-term.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Some perfume, slighty muddy cooked nose. Juicy, dense, strawberry jam on palate, backed by fine tannins. Savoury and with good length, and a nice minerality comes through.
