Les Brouillards

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Ripe fruit and new wood to smell; lean, fairly tannic, red fruit flavoured wine with 2010 acidity very clear. Some ripe fruit there, but also the year’s austerity, modest scope and medium length; an edgy prospect, even given time! Just 1er Cru … Certainly needs time.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Very deep colour, light purple rim. Nicely concentrated black fruits on the nose, fine natural ripeness and middle sweetness on the palate. Good broad flavours, quite rich, even chocolaty, a big wine, already open and good for the mid-term.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Very green, stalky cassis nose, confirmed in the mouth. Good fruit concentration but it is not ripe – cold maceration cannot solve problem of greenness. Quite hard, coarse tannins, but there is a good frut presence on the finish.
