Les Santenots
Manufacturer:
Michael Schuster
Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Ripe fruit with a hint of the herbal; an austere, muscular expression of Volnay, even given that it is Santenots. Firm in tannin and in acidity, good fruit and good length there, but a long term structure.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Deep red but mature rim. Some fragrance on the nose, but a little blurred and this goes through to the palate so that the fruit lacks clarity and is a bit stewed. However there is good depth there and it might show more clearly in the future.
Sebastian Thomas
Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Forward, ripe blackcurrant nose. Very intense, raw blackcurrant fruit in mouth, overextracted and unappealing. Medium tannin, very woody and a little short.
