Chanlin

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Closed, but ripe fruit there on the nose; matter and structure here, quite firm tannin, plenty of ripe-ish red fruit, quite well sustained across the palate, good, light fruit and mineral length; a solid style of Volnay, as one might expect from the Pommard side of the appellation, satisfying rather than fine, with the year’s acidity reasonably covered; needs a couple of years yet.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Very deep colour with young purple rim. Nicely concentrated, blackcurrant and black cherry fruit on the nose. Rich and quite broad on the palate, oak adds a slightly exotic richness, quite open with tannins to keep it, but no great complexity.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
New oak dominates nose, some red cherry fruit. Very dominant biting wood and grape tannins on the palate; the present acidity allows some some juicy red fruit to appear towards the finish. Mouth-coating and quite long.
