Clos des Angles
Manufacturer:
Michael Schuster
Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Closed but quite fine to smell; medium full, but with the year’s acidity dominant to taste – lean overall, some finesse, as on the nose, but lacks ripeness, flesh and charm – also a bit oak-dry in texture; medium length.
Steven Spurrier
Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Good colour, youthful rim. Nicely concentrated red fruits on the nose, good clear and clean fruit on the palate, still a little tight and green on the finish, but will smooth out to show character in the less robust style.
Sebastian Thomas
Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Blurred red fruit nose with new oak, slightly muddy on the palate, with a hint of green. Mildly aggressive acidity, fruit muted, but medium, fine tannins and some persistence on the slighty woody finish.
