Mitans
Manufacturer:
Michael Schuster
Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Ripe-ish fruit and clear oak on the nose; marked by barely ripe fruit, a marked red fruit flavour and a firm tannin texture – little evidence of either Volnay charm and finesse, or 1er Cru class here. Medium length, modest scope, disappointing overall. Certainly needs time to mellow.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Fine depth of colour, youthful rim. Fine expression of red and black fruits on the nose, good firm fruit on the palate, still quite shut in but has precision and depth and already fine middle sweetness to show some complexity in the future.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Shy nose, then green and harsh, with some mean cherry fruit overwhelmed by aggressive, coarse tannins; some wood on the finish.
