Les Caillerets
Manufacturer:
Michael Schuster
Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Ripe fruit marked by new oak. Lively fruit dominated by its new wood tannin; rendered tough by its new wood, and likely to remain over-wooded; medium length. Good.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Dense young colour, purple rim. Very good concentration of red and black summer fruits on the nose, firm and elegant structure on the palate. Quite a powerful wine yet quite constrained, well-compacted fruit that needs time to absorb the oak; will be good long term.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Very volatile nose, but appealing red fruit underneath. Slightly unripe on palate, hard green tannins with little finesse in evidence, highlighted by pointed acidity. Quite hard on the medium finish.
