Roger Jones

Tasting: Coonawarra & Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Toasted brioche on nose, deep intense prunes. I like this wine but not as a Cabernet Sauvignon.

Pierre Mansour

Tasting: Coonawarra & Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Very deep ruby colour. Baked, warm fruit, overripe & slightly oxidised/volatile. Thick, opulent, jammy palate, full of flavour, lacks some Cabernet typicity. A balanced and ripe style.

Anthony Rose

Tasting: Coonawarra & Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Dark colours, slightly baked plum and prune over ripeness on the nose and palate; there is some acidity behind it all but can it compensate for that slightly stewed and porty feeling? Not in my book although with the right robust food this kind of superripe sweetness and spice might just work.
