Anapai River
Manufacturer:
Peter McCombie MW
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Youthful and fresh, with restrained fruit; a little peppery in the mouth with tight bite. Will round out with time.
Christine Parkinson
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Leathery, egg shell aromas show some reduction present. Rich berry compote with a heavy spicing of oak on the palate gives mouth-filling, but rather clumsy character. Tannins initially supple but have a hard edge on finish, which is long but very sweet.
Joanna Simon
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Ripe, strawberry nose and with a vanilla-cream note. Sweet, supple, pure red berry fruit palate, rounded out with oak. Attractive and balanced without being complex.
