Bodegas Peique
Manufacturer:
Mike Ritchie
Tasting: Bierzo Mencia
A detectable meaty and reduced note on the nose leads on to a rather indistinct fruit compote character on the palate. Clean finish but quite short. 2012 –
Pedro Ballesteros
Tasting: Bierzo Mencia
Not very intense, with clean black fruit notes and the animal notes so typical to mencía, slightly reduced. Well structured, a bit too low in acidity. Ideal for wine-bars. Drink in one year time.

Tasting: Bierzo Mencia
Roasted nuts, animal aroma masks floral undertones. Rich impression of chewy damson and black cherry fruit on palate at odds with the roasted aromas. Fresh, vivid appeal. Lingering, refreshing finish. A little rustic.
