Tasting: Napa & Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon

Muted blackcurrant nose but has a classic Cabernet character, and the oak is well judged. Broad, lush, a touch soupy and soft, but there’s plenty of fruit here though at the expense of energy and lift. Moderate tannins but it’s heavy-handed overall, with a lacklustre finish.

This wine is very intense, with notes of black fruits. The wine shows great complexity. The alcohol is slightly too high. The tannins will need some time.
