Opawa
Manufacturer:
Peter McCombie MW
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Seductive, leafy, red fruit; vibrant red fruit, with some sweet, spicy oak, edgy tannins and firm acidity. Needs food.
Christine Parkinson
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Toasty oak and delicate ripe blackberry aromas; fruit carries through to palate, and oak has very light touch. Very light and supple tannins. Long, savoury finish. Eggshell note on palate mars the purity.
Joanna Simon
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Quite fragrant and varietally expressive, with cherry, rose petal and spice. A fairly light palate, true in flavour, with a lightly creamy texture and touches of spice, but not a great deal of depth.
