William Downie
Manufacturer:
Andrew Jefford
Tasting: Tasmania & Victoria Pinot Noir
Sweet, warm, milky and elegant: very refined, with admirable perfume spices too. Truly classy scents. On the palate, this is fresh, vivid, lively, spicy and long. It’s hard to fault the flavoury serenity compositional finesse of this order. Its tannic presence proves some drying seriousness on the finish, qualifying the smooth raspberry and plum and lending them gastronomic force.

Tasting: Tasmania & Victoria Pinot Noir
Savoury, spicy, Asian, aromatic, all these hit you at once, evolving into a hugely structured, layered wine. Put it back in the cellar for 5 years or more, no doubt great quality here, just needs time – think great Burgundies.

Tasting: Tasmania & Victoria Pinot Noir
Subtle, restrained nose with notes of black cherries and smoky, toasty oak. Full bodied, intense and long with sturdy acidity and juicy texture.
