This was a difficult growing season in Sauternes too, writes Stephen Brook, but there was no lack of botrytis. The wines are a triumph, with not only the top growths performing superbly. More modest wines achieve great heights in 2007. Styles vary, of course, but winelovers are spoiled for choice. The best vintage since the fabulous 2001.
