Hunter bushfires update

Hunter Valley police say wineries are not in danger at present but if winds change there will be problems.

The police Emergency Operations Centre in Maitland, north east of Cessnock in the Lower Hunter, coordinates all firefighting operations.

A spokesman told decanter.com, ‘No wineries are in danger and owners are not needing to take any precautions at the moment. But if the prevailing winds change to the northwest, that would threaten the vineyards.’
