This March Decanter and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden host one of the wine world's most renowned and exclusive charity dinners.
International stars of the opera and wine worlds will converge on the world-famous Opera House in the centre of London’s West End for the Royal Opera House and Decanter magazine’s Gala Wine Dinner.
Among other major artists, recitals by soprano Ekaterina Siurina and mezzo-soprano Christine Rice will be accompanied by chorus director Renato Balsadonna, and members of the Royal Opera Chorus.
This will be followed by a dinner featuring some of the world’s greatest wines, including Dom Ruinart Champagne 1998, Clos de Tart Grand Cru 2003, Louis Jadot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2006, Ornellaia 2007, Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion 1990, Chateau Haut Brion 1982 and Warre’s Vintage Port 1983.
The wines will be introduced by their illustrious proprietors: HRH Prince Robert of Luxembourg will present the Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion, while Sylvain Pitiot of Clos du Tart, Pierre-Henri Gagey of Jadot and Paul Symington, owner of Warre’s, will present their wines.
There will also be an exclusive charity auction conducted by David Elswood and Anthony Hanson MW of Christie’s.
