UK wine magazine Wine International has been sold to William Reed publishing as part of a £2.2m deal, it emerged today.
The sale, which included Drinks International magazine and the International Wine Challenge (IWC) tasting competition, was completed at the beginning of this week. The two magazines and the IWC were part of the drinks division of the publishing group Wilmington.
Although it is not known whether or not there will be any changes at the magazines or the IWC, part of the takeover includes a special clause whereby the old Wilmington titles can remain unchanged in location and personnel for the next six months.
William Reed Publishing is a major UK business-to-business publisher with extensive range of products from magazines to conferences to business guides covering the drinks, catering, hotel and restaurant sectors.
Its magazine titles include Off Licence News, The Grocer, Class, Pub Chef and Restaurant magazine.
