Two seminars to be held in London demonstrate wine’s continuing fascination as an investment vehicle.
Many increasingly regard wine as a relatively safe haven during the recent financial crises that have hit the banking sector and the housing market.
In the last year, the Liv-ex 100 Index of wine prices has risen more than 8 points, whilst displaying none of the volatility experienced by equities.
The first event is ‘Invest In Wine?’ which takes place at Vinopolis on October 13.
Experts present will include journalist Robert Joseph, James Miles of Liv-ex, Decanter writer Jim Budd, wine fund manager Peter Lunzer, and Adam Lechmere, editor of decanter.com.
Then in December a one-day seminar run by www.globalmarkets-media.com is targeted at wealth managers, wine industry professionals and private collectors.
It features experts including Andrew Jefford of Decanter, Geraint Carter from Bordeaux Index and Gregory De’eb from Crown Wine Cellars in Hong Kong.
