Established in 1831, Colomé is the oldest working winery in Argentina and boasts one of the world’s highest vineyards. This elegant single-vineyard Malbec comes from the 45ha El Arenal vineyard at 2,600m. Wonderfully complex nose with deep black fruit aromas – cassis, blackberry, black cherry, damson – overlaid with spice, chocolate and violets. You can taste the mountain freshness throughout the palate, which is layered with notes of black cherry, violet, dark chocolate and spice around a core of rich black fruit, with fine tannins and a savoury nod. Poised and beautifully balanced, this is very complete now – and great with food! – but will certainly evolve in bottle.
