Vinaceous, Voodoo Moon Malbec, Margaret River, 2014

With Margaret River showing such propensity with Cabernet and Cab-Merlot blends, it make sense that this 'lesser' Bordeaux grape would do well here too. From a single vineyard in Wilyabrup, the fruit is basket pressed and matured for 15 months in French and American oak barriques, 25% new. This gives a rich, weighty palate of dense bramble fruit, softly textured tannins and a long chocolatey finish. Cool label too.
