Brokenwood, The Society's Exhibition Hunter Valley Sémillon, New South Wales, Australia 2018

Textbook Hunter Valley Sémillon, at a very interesting point of its development. Deep citrus and orchard fruit mingle with the notes of flint, gunpowder, beeswax and toasted almonds that start to emerge. A succulent layer of poached pears and marzipan gives substance to the mid palate, topped by subtle notes of linden and hay. Delicious.
