Auld Family Wines, Wilberforce Riesling, Eden Valley, South Australia 2021

Named after a horse ridden by WP Auld on the first expedition that successfully crossed Australia from south to north, Wilberforce is a classy Eden Valley Riesling. Distinctive varietal kerosene nose, with creamy citrus and white blossom hints. The palate is bone dry, with bracing acidity – mineral and pure, with that petrol character, lemon sherbet and freshly sliced lemons, plus pretty notes of lime zest and white flowers on the finish.
