The Wine Society's Blind Spot range of Australian wines is a great source of value, the rationale underpinning it being 'great expression of regional character at prices more typical of everyday wines'. This is a perfect example of that – a delightful cherry-red Carignan, made by respected producer Mac Forbes. Bottled under screwcap, it's a great choice for weekday drinking, youthful and fresh with bags of fleshy black cherry fruit, a slight yoghurty note, and sappy acidity. Uber-drinkable and perfect as we move into spring.
