Rob 'The Dirtman' Gibson was formerly head of Penfolds viticulture department and completed more than 50 vintages in wine regions around the world before joining his son Adam to make wine in Barossa. Most of their fruit is sourced from growers spread across the region, allowing them to use small parcels from diverse terroirs, some from vines over 100 years old. Aged in a mix of French and American oak for 18 months, this is just what you want from Barossa Shiraz, rich and concentrated with gummy blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, a twist of black pepper, and vanilla creaminess from the oak. Mix-six price: £17.99.
