Wirra Wirra, Catapult Shiraz, McLaren Vale, 2022

The name is a reference to the full-sized medieval siege machine built at the winery – a whim of the late Greg Trott, who resurrected Wirra Wirra in the 1960s. Fruit is sourced from the foothills of McLaren Vale and spends 12 months in used French oak. Elegant floral blueberry aromas lead to a juicy palate of blackberries, blueberry and raspberry, with whispers of savoury spice and ripe tannins, all balanced by super freshness.
