Lidl, Pfaffl Grüner Veltliner, Niederösterreich, 2017

This is a cracking Grüner Veltliner – open and expressive, with the trademark white pepper notes of a young Grüner, plus generous and juicy, zesty fruit. Good length on the finish too. If you prefer a more austere style, try the Domaine Wachau Grüner Veltliner Granit, which is far steelier and more structured. I've recommended this one instead as I think the Granit could do with another year before approaching.
