Pillitteri Estate, Vidal Icewine, Niagara Peninsula

Lidl is offering two Canadian ice wines this year, both made by respected Niagara producer Pillitteri. The Riesling version is undoubtedly more refined and also great value for money, even at £1 more, but if you want buckets of fleshy peach and juicy apricot fruit, and a slight warming jamminess, go for this Vidal. From the first pour, the golden colour and generosity of flavour will delight. Sold in half-bottles.
