Look out for a new front label design on this wine, which is made for Tesco by Concha y Toro, a reliable source of well-made, value Chilean reds. When I buy Carmenere, it's because I'm looking for a certain green pepper crunchiness to the dark fruit flavours, and you find this here in spades, a refreshing contrast to the warm blackberry and plum fruits and softening touch of cocoa. The wine spent a year in oak barrels, but the oak is not intrusive. A good value, everyday drinking red, with freshness and flavour.
