Cold Shower Wines, Mission Impaissible, 2019

Made from País vines aged 120 to 150 years, this is a seriously enjoyable red with a very fun label to boot. Dusky, spicy black and red berry aromas with a nice whiff of blackcurrant fruit pastille and a hint of violet. The juicy palate is layered with black cherries, cassis, raspberries, spice and a savoury tang too, plus enough tannic grip to pair nicely with food (great with sausages). Fresh acidity on the finish with a spicy red fruit crunch. Great!
