Echeverria, No es Pituko Viognier, Curicó Valley, 2020

No es pituko' means ‘it's nothing fancy’, referring to the fact that this range – which also includes a Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc – is vinified naturally. Grapes are from a single vineyard of 35-year-old ungrafted vines, on pre-phylloxera rootstocks. Slightly cloudy appearance, with a vibrant nose of orchard fruit (russet apple and pear) plus peachy stone fruit. The palate is textured and rounded, with flavours of baked apple and preserved lemon, spice and vanilla creaminess; fresh acidity throughout and a crisp finish.
