Viña Ventisquero, Enclave Cabernet Sauvignon, Alto Maipo

Ventisquero's flagship Bordeaux-style Cabernet comes from two vineyard plots in Alto Maipo at 750m and 1,000m. From a cool vintage, the blend includes 7% Petit Verdot, 5% Carmenere and 2% Cabernet Franc. Aged in new and used French oak for 18 months, it has savoury red fruit aromas, with notes of autumnal berries, cherries and stewed plum, plus a touch of dusty spice. Soft and voluptuous attack, with silky black fruit, chocolate, mocha and gentle spice framed by fine, soft tannins. A fine seam of acidity keeps it fresh.
