Luis Felipe Edwards, Gran Reserva Malbec, Colchagua Valley, Chile 2020

This Chilean Malbec (with 10% Syrah in the blend) launched in Tesco in March. Luis Felipe Edwards has a good track record in producing good, affordable reds. This one is made from 70-year-old vines in Chile's Colchagua Valley, and aged in a mix of French and American oak for 10 months, giving a spicy warmth, alongside sweet dark cherry fruit flavours. Decent value, if not the most complex Malbec you'll come across.
