Leyda, Single Vineyard Garuma Sauvignon Blanc, Leyda Valley, Chile 2022

Award-winning boutique winery Viña Leyda is brilliant at making good-value, deeply aromatic Chilean Sauvignon Blanc. A third of the cool-climate fruit was whole-cluster pressed, and the wine spent four months ageing on lees in stainless steel tanks with weekly batonnage to create a textural mouthfeel. One for lovers of New World exuberance, this is full flavoured and tangy, with smoky green pepper and tomato leaf juiciness, and notes of asparagus and snow pea. Very moreish.
