I regularly pick this up when I'm shopping at Tesco. It's a delicious cool-climate expression of the Sauvignon Blanc grape, made from grapes grown in Leyda's coastal vineyards, where breezes from the Pacific Ocean help the grapes to ripen more slowly, giving an intensity of flavour. And it certainly is intense, bursting with fresh gooseberry, asparagus, snow peas and limey passion fruit zestiness, allied to a crunchy green pepper note. Juicy, focused and fresh, it's incredibly moreish, and amazing value when on promotion.

Cool-climate Chilean Sauvignon Blanc is getting better all the time, offering similar upfront aromatics as a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc but often with more vibrancy and less residual sugar. We loved this well-priced wine from Leyda Valley, made by Luis Felipe Edwards, a brand known for offering quality wines at this price point. Bursting with zesty lime fruit and crunchy green pea and asparagus flavours, it's fruit forward but with a real bite to it too. A crowd-pleaser. Mix-six price: £9.99
