The Reventon is a top Grk bottling, a masterclass in the capacity of this ancient variety from Lumbarda, a region on the southern tip of the island of Korčula. It spent one year in large 2000l Garboletto fudres of Slavonian oak, where battonage imparted a lavish texture and depth of fruit—aromas of Belgian gueze, yellow flower pollen, nuanced elements of beeswax and honey. The texture and layers take the variety to another place, with concentrated tropical notes of papaya, ripe mangoes and a candied note of lemon. It is impressive and exciting to see this indigenous variety reach such heights.
