Croatia is a great place to look for fresh and fruity whites to go with fish and seafood. This Malvazija from the coastal Istria region is unoaked, pale in the glass, but has a good weight in the mouth. Some jasmine, hawthorn character on the nose, plus ripe green pear fruit, and a hint of salinity on the finish. Would like to see this bottled under screwcap.
