There's clearly a wide audience for bold, off-dry Alsatian Gewurztraminer, because this wine has been exclusive to Majestic for 10 years. It's a vibrant, energetic wine full of pure grapey juiciness. Yes it's blowsy and intensely floral, but it holds its own and thrives on its rose, lavender and apricot goodness. The palate shows surprising tangy freshness, giving the impression of acidity, despite the acidity being fairly low. Be prepared for an onslaught of flavour; a great wine to serve at a dinner party. This cooperative winery has 110 members and 200ha, with 80% of these located in Hunawihr.
