Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, Gewürztraminer Turckheim, 2014

An infestation of fruit flies in the Turckheim vineyards demanded strict fruit selection, and in 2014 the remaining good fruit was blended with that from the single vineyard site of Herrenweg, a site with old vines that usually produces a sweet, late harvest Gewurztraminer. The nose is complex, with honey, rose petal, lemon and lime. The palate is juicy yet dry, with beeswax, rose water, lime and a touch of sweet spice. Precise in style and pretty in execution.
