Lidl, Crémant d’Alsace Brut, Alsace, France NV

This aromatic fizz from Alsace is a perfect example of the winning combination that French Crémant can offer: regional character and value for money. Pinot Blanc is the principal variety, but there's also a good dollop of Riesling and Auxerrois. Softly spicy, with a good weight of appley fruit, this is more traditional than the sparkling Sauvignon Blanc in the same Winter Wine Tour range, and has a bit more length.
