Château Bel-Orme Tronquoy de Lalande, Haut-Médoc, 2006

Historically, Majestic has always been very good at picking up parcels of well-priced Bordeaux, and this wine is a great example - not only was 2006 a very good vintage in Bordeaux, but this wine is now nicely mature. It has a lovely nose of mulchy hedgerow fruit, leather and damp earth (classic Médoc, really) while plentiful ripe and chewy tannins provide a framework to which the dark fruits and spices cling, leading to a bright cherry finish.
