Château de Lussac, in the small appellation of Lussac St-Emilion, will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2026. Majestic has secured a limited parcel of its 2006 vintage wine, a blend of 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc, aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, 50% new. It still has a marked tannic grip, and a generosity of rich and dark blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, with some leathery, earthy and cedary notes. Good value for a claret with this level of age. Mix-six price: £19.99.
