Château Haut-Lalande, Grand Vin, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux

Richly scented nose filled with bramble fruits and purple flowers. Wood is on show a little in the constriction of the wine, it has a nice initial flavour - really quite fruity and fresh but the tannins come into play and just stop some of the enjoyment at this stage, bringing some toast and caramel elements in. Its graceful with a nice finesse to the overall presentation just needs a bit more time to soften. The alcohol is also noticeable on the finish creating a spike of heat that needs to settle.
