Château Mayne Guyon, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, 2022

Dark nose, toasted, wood, caramel, blackcurrant. Quite sharp and high toned, instantly quite bright acidity and lively fruit before the tannins come into play and just quell some of the fruity enjoyment. A touch chalky, it's almost light, but it's clean and unfussy, certainly easy to enjoy with food and great for mid-week drinking. A 30ha property and a blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Malbec. Ageing two months in barrels with some staves. Organic.
