A touch of cooler blue fruits on the nose, blueberries and red cherries alongside liquorice and cedar spice too. The palate is slightly softer here than the 2016, an explosion of fruit and instant juice but again tannins are present and overpower the general feeling and taste, though you know it'll be worth waiting for. Finessed power. Feels warming and heady making you want a nice warm fire and steak to go alongside.
