Château Penin, Natur, Bordeaux, 2010

This smells powerful and dark with earthy, savoury notes at the fore alongside cooked plums and prunes. Smooth and seductive on the palate, this is vibrant and energetic, arguably the best of the Natur wines offering blackcurrant and cherry fruit flavours, well-integrated tannins and spice elements that kick in towards the long finish. Definitely my favourite in this range and still with life ahead. Was from an excellent year but shows the potential of these wines especially considering they are made without the addition of sulphur during vinification or bottling.
