This was a standout red at the Autumn 2021 press tasting, and a genuine steal at the price. The Parcel Series uses wines that have been offloaded by top-name wineries, on the condition that they remain anonymous. It was a very good vintage: 'Extremely consistent, a truly great year in St-Julien', said Decanter's expert analysis following the 2019 en primeur tastings. This is certainly drinking beautifully already, with a heady perfume of fleshy blackcurrant fruit, spicy oak, coffee and cedar. You could easily lay it down for five or so years though, if you prefer. Depth, elegance and complexity in spades. Snap it up!
