Fleurie, in the north of Beaujolais, is the region's most well-known cru, for sure. It typically produces wines that are softer, lighter and more approachable than some of the other crus, with floral, perfumed notes and juicy, dark fruit character. This isn't a complex example, but it does have typicity, and bright chewy fruits, with some length. As the season moves slowly into spring, this is a decent option if you're looking to lighter-style reds for everyday drinking.
