Domaine Cordier, Mâconnais, Pouilly-Fuissé, Burgundy, 2017

Domaine Cordier is never shy about using oak to temper the sunny fruit flavours of the Mâcon, and this Pouilly-Fuissé is a lovely example of how well the combination can work. It has concentrated flavours, rich in baked apple and sweet spices (not dissimilar to apple pie), while the gum-tingling acidity brings plenty of freshness to cut through the creamy finish. Delicious!
