From a tiny parcel of 1940s-era vines at one of the higher spots of the Echezeaux appellation, this has a point of reduction on the first nose even at seven years old, and its grip belies the silkiness of the tannins, performing that incredible Burgundy trick of seducing you and spurning you at the same time. It has a core of savoury dark fruits with smoky undertones, the flavours spun out on the palate, mouthwateringly so. Wonderful Pinot.
